Your Career

These days, the threat landscape is fluid and always changing. Cyber bad-actors are constantly finding new and diabolically creative ways to get to your data and there’s just no telling what door they’ll knock on next. As a Sr. Principal Security Researcher, you will be helping Palo Alto Networks in a high visibility and impactful role to stay ahead of the curve in addressing the latest security threats.

Your Impact

  • Working from within the office of the NetSec CTO to provide research across the large Network Security portfolio at Palo Alto Networks.

  • Leverage Palo Alto Network’s security data to derive new insights that will inform threat trends and protections needed across Network Security.

  • Discover and create proof of concepts for new network or browser based attack techniques.

  • Design practical product level mitigations to prevent new and novel attacks techniques for our customers.

  • Serve as a threat and network security subject-matter expert when collaborating with Palo Alto Networks leadership and industry partners.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Proven track record of discovering new vulnerabilities and attack techniques used in the real world.

  • Deep practical knowledge network systems and protocols and how they are deployed in enterprise networks.

  • End to end experience of taking new security discovering and developing/deploying protections into a production environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferably demonstrated through technical blogs, published research, and security talks.

  • BS or MS Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, related to computer security, application security, information security, network security, or cryptography is preferred.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $182000 - $295000/YR.
