Job Summary (List Format): Lead AWS Software Engineer/Developer Digital Payments
- Serve as a Lead AWS Full Stack Developer for the ChoicePay digital payments disbursement platform.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and hands-on delivery for an AWS development team.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on all technology stacks within the Payment Disbursement portfolio.
- Collaborate with business analysts to gather requirements, provide estimates, and develop technical design documents.
- Design and implement solutions focused on modularization, configuration-driven enhancement, and data model normalization.
- Develop and support RESTful web services, event-based integrations, and asynchronous file processing.
- Build and maintain AWS Lambda-based execution engines for high-volume payment origination and disbursement.
- Develop scalable, event-driven applications using Amazon SQS, SNS, and AWS CloudWatch/CloudTrail for logging and diagnostics.
- Design secure, highly available systems using AWS services (EC2, DynamoDB, RDS PostgreSQL, S3, CloudFront, Cognito, VPC, etc).
- Implement APIs with API Gateway, AppSync, and integrate with security and logging tools (SecretsManager, Splunk).
- Build robust user management, authentication, and access controls using AWS Identity services.
- Ensure application security with tools like AWS GuardDuty, WAF, SecurityHub.
- Support development and deployment pipelines using Git, AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Participate in change management, incident response, and production support (ServiceNow, L3 support).
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, development, testing, defect fixes, and production releases.
- Monitor team progress using tools such as ADO or Jira; participate in staffing (referrals, interviews, onboarding).
- Communicate effectively with business and IT partners, translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Must possess 9+ years of full stack development experience, including 3+ years with JavaScript, Node.js, React, AWS Lambda, and related AWS services.
- Bachelor's degree required; strong analytical, documentation, and SDLC skills essential.
- Hybrid position: must be local to Columbus, OH (preferred) or Minneapolis, MN (secondary), and able to work onsite 4 days per week.
