Job Description

We are currently seeking a Recycling Supervisor for one of our clients located in KWC region , to support their metal recycling plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise scrap yard personnel to ensure safe and efficient placement, movement, and processing of scrap cars, trucks, and materials

• Plan, organize, and control incoming and outgoing scrap to maintain smooth yard operations

• Oversee proper inspection of incoming scrap in coordination with the Scrap Inspector; make final decisions on acceptance or rejection

• Ensure all equipment is operated correctly to prevent damage, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life

• Identify equipment issues, coordinate repairs, and implement corrective actions to minimize breakdowns

• Develop, implement, train, and audit standard operating procedures for scrap yard activities

• Schedule staff, manage work hours, approve overtime when required, and document performance or disciplinary actions

• Coordinate with Traffic, Sales, and Purchasing teams to ensure timely truck loading and unloading, including managing peak-volume periods

• Lead team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, and material recovery

• Enforce housekeeping standards to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company policies at all times

Qualifications & Experience:

• University degree with 2 3 years of related supervisory experience or 5 7 years of hands-on experience in the scrap metal or recycling industry

• Strong working knowledge of scrap metal grades, steel types, and material classifications

• Proven leadership experience in an industrial, recycling, or scrap yard environment

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, scrap suppliers, drivers, and internal teams

• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
