Project Manager – (IT Security Specialist)

📍 Location: Columbia, SC (Onsite)

🕒 Employment Type: Long-term contract

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager with a strong background in Information Technology Security to join our team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining and enhancing the security, stability, and efficiency of our IT systems while supporting daily operations for the client.

You’ll work directly with the IT Manager and department leaders to secure infrastructure, manage user access, maintain hardware/software environments, and ensure compliance with state technology standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage IT systems.
• Network infrastructure (wired/wireless), firewalls, servers (Data, Web, SQL)
• Office 365, SQL databases, email filtering, and enterprise anti-virus
• Monitor network performance, security, and capacity across systems and devices.
• Support Tier I and Tier II help desk operations for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Maintain and manage access to network resources, user accounts, and peripheral devices.
• Serve as system administrator for the Gateway Galaxy POS system including updates, hardware support, and secure database backups.
• Act as the Policy Champion for the State Division of Information Technology and Cyberforce Security initiatives.
• Manage the IT budget, CIO IT plan, and lead procurement activities.
• Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and data integrity protocols.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure secure, optimized operations across the museum.
• Provide training and guidance on security best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Audio Visual (AV) experience
• 2+ years of IT network administration experience
• 2+ years providing help desk support (Tier I & II)
• 2+ years managing user accounts, access control, and network resources
• Proven ability to ensure IT operational stability and continuity

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management experience
• Familiarity with state IT compliance policies and public sector environments
