I am partnered with a fast-growing start-up in the solar energy sector who are dedicated to revolutionizing the industry. This forward-thinking company focuses on the development, construction, and long-term operation of innovative solar power systems, including rooftop and canopy installations. Their mission is to make solar energy accessible and efficient for businesses, contributing to a greener future and providing reliable, clean energy solutions.

  • Provide legal support for early-stage project development, ensuring compliance with relevant state requirements for selling power and distributed generation.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including early development and EPC teams, as well as operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Serve as a legal advisor to senior management, guiding legal aspects of project execution and interfacing with potential customers.
  • Ensure adherence to state and local regulations related to distributed generation and power sales.

Experience:

  • 4-7 years of legal experience in the solar industry, gained at either big law firms or in-house.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Candidates must have strong expertise in the solar industry, particularly with solar projects, development, construction contracts, and PPAs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail, with a capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
