LD&D, a fast-growing real estate development and investment firm based in Miami, is seeking a Summer Associate to join our Real Estate Team in an investment-focused role. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented student to gain hands-on experience in real estate investment and development within a collaborative and dynamic environment.
The internship is a full-time, in-person position based in our Miami office (2347 Biscayne Blvd. Miami, FL 33137), running approximately 10 weeks (June–August) . The candidate will support the team in managing existing assets, underwriting new investment opportunities, and contributing to financial modeling and strategic decision-making. This role offers exposure to all phases of the development and investment process, with the opportunity to work closely with the broader team. The candidate is expected to contribute meaningfully across a variety of strategic initiatives, which may include:
- Updating existing financial models and underwriting both new development and value-add opportunities
- Coordinating with partners, brokers, and third-party consultants to source data for underwriting and investment memos
- Identifying and evaluating potential new markets beyond LD&D’s core geographic focus
- Managing and updating the deal pipeline to track active opportunities
- Conducting in-depth market research to assess supply and demand dynamics across key submarkets
- Conducting targeted studies to identify additional revenue generators across residential assets
- Assisting with retail leasing in mixed-use urban developments
- Refining investor materials and expanding internal research tools
- Coordinating across internal teams to support various initiatives as needed
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing an MBA at a top-tier program, with a focus on real estate, finance, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of prior experience in real estate investment, development, investment banking, private equity, or a related industry preferred
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proven proficiency in financial modeling
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
