Job Description

A growing structural engineering firm in San Diego is seeking a Structural Engineer with 3-6+ years of experience to join their team. This is a strong opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career and work on a variety of building types-from commercial and residential to institutional and civic. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values technical excellence, clear communication, and long-term growth.

In this role, you'll contribute to projects from schematic design through construction administration, gaining exposure to all phases of delivery. You'll work closely with senior engineers, architects, and contractors, and be supported with mentorship and professional development. The firm offers a clear path toward licensure and future leadership roles.

The ideal candidate is someone who's curious, detail-oriented, and ready to take initiative. You'll be expected to bring a problem-solving mindset, ask smart questions, and take ownership of your work. If you're passionate about buildings and want to grow in a fast-paced but supportive environment, this could be a great fit.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design for building projects using industry-standard software
  • Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and consultants throughout project phases
  • Assist with site visits and construction administration tasks
  • Participate in internal design reviews and team meetings
  • Support senior engineers with project delivery and technical development
  • Stay current with building codes, materials, and engineering practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 3-6+ years of experience in building design
  • EIT required; PE preferred or in progress
  • Proficiency in ETABS, RAM, RISA, and similar tools
  • Familiarity with California building codes and seismic design

If you're looking for a role where you can contribute, learn, and build a long-term career in structural engineering, we'd love to connect.
