Shift Time: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Weekends & Holidays: Rotating, based on departmental needs
Travel Pay: $30/hr
Local Pay: $26/hr
The Sterile Supply Technician is responsible for the safe and effective decontamination, disinfection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and trays used throughout the operating room and other clinical areas. This role ensures compliance with aseptic techniques, infection control standards, and departmental policies while supporting urgent and emergent clinical needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
Assemble both complex and basic surgical instrument sets with accuracy and attention to detail
Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, including steam sterilizers, Steris, and Sterrad systems
Conduct quality checks and document sterilization and decontamination processes
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control standards
Respond promptly to urgent and emergent requests from clinical staff
Ensure proper handling, storage, and distribution of sterile supplies
Maintain accurate records and logs related to sterilization processes
Support operating room and clinical department workflows as needed
Successful completion of a nationally accredited Central Service Technician certification exam
OR
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Central Service/Sterile Processing Technician in a healthcare facility
Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
Active Central Service Technician certification
Prior experience in an acute care or hospital-based sterile processing department
Knowledge of sterilization methods and infection control practices
Experience operating sterilization and decontamination equipment
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
