Job Description

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST

About Bad Birdie

Bad Birdie is a golf apparel brand for those who play bold and never lay up. Our performance-driven, style-forward gear breaks the mold of traditional golf wear—injecting color, character, and confidence into every collection for men, women, and youth. Designed for those who believe golf wasn’t meant to be proper—it was meant to be played—we exist to move the game forward and make space for bold self-expression to belong on the course as much as the game itself.

The Role

We’re seeking a Social Media Strategist who lives and breathes this philosophy—someone who doesn’t just manage social, but makes it a stage for culture, creativity, and connection. Equal parts public persona, taste-maker, and data-driven marketer, you’ll amplify Bad Birdie’s voice, grow our community, and help redefine what’s possible in golf.

This role requires 4+ years of proven social media experience, a passion for golf and style, and the ability to push boundaries without ever losing approachability or humor.

What You’ll Do

Guide Social Strategy & Culture-Building

  • Own Bad Birdie’s social media vision and roadmap across all platforms, ensuring every post, campaign, and story aligns with our bold, playful, and inclusive philosophy.
  • Spot trends, cultural moments, and emerging platforms that let Bad Birdie push boundaries while staying approachable.
  • Take calculated risks with content, formats, and messaging to drive engagement, spark conversation, and make golf feel fun, stylish, and accessible.
  • Manage the Brand Coordinator, providing mentorship and oversight to ensure the high-quality execution of daily social initiatives.

Content Creation & Taste-Making

  • Concept, produce, and curate social-first content that reflects our players’ boldness, personality, and irreverence.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to elevate product launches, campaigns, and partnerships into shareable social moments.
  • Integrate UGC, athletes, and influencer content authentically to amplify community and credibility.
  • Ensure every post embodies our ethos: fearless, fun, stylish, and unapologetically Bad Birdie.

Community Engagement & Persona Leadership

  • Be the recognizable online voice of Bad Birdie—fun, witty, approachable, and culturally savvy.
  • Lead conversations, reply to followers with personality, and nurture a community that feels like a confident, irreverent foursome.
  • Highlight athletes, partnerships, and moments that celebrate individuality, boldness, and good times.

Performance, Analytics & Optimization

  • Track engagement, sentiment, and conversion metrics across platforms to inform strategy and creative decisions.
  • Use insights to test, refine, and optimize content, posting cadence, and campaigns.
  • Partner with Growth/Marketing teams to align organic and paid social efforts, ensuring both cultural impact and ROI.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product, E-comm, and Customer Service teams to ensure social supports business goals and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Creative and Partnerships to turn athlete and collab moments into shareable, culturally relevant content.
  • Ensure brand voice remains consistent across all channels—always bold, playful, and inclusive.

What We’re Looking For

  • A passion for golf and a strong understanding of golf culture, trends, and the broader sports landscape.
  • 4+ years of guiding social media for consumer brands, with a proven track record of building engaged communities.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff (e.g., Brand Coordinator).
  • Hands-on experience in sports marketing or social media for sports brands/athletes preferred.
  • A creative extrovert and data-driven marketer rolled into one—you love the spotlight as much as the dashboard.
  • Hands-on experience with social media analytics platforms (e.g., Dash Social, Sprout, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Canva and Google Workspace; a bonus if you have skills in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience editing audio and video for social content.
  • Fluency in Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and emerging platforms.
  • A hands-on creator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn’t afraid to take risks.
