Ten Mile is looking to hire a self-motivated and career-driven Shop Mechanic. Our Maintenance Shop is located in Washington, PA. Mechanics must utilize their own tool box and tools. Ten Mile Performs our own State Inspections. Ten Mile owns over 150 items consisting of Vehicles, Trailers and Heavy Trucks. Expect to work on Pick-up Trucks, Single Axle Dump Trucks, Tri-Axle Dump Trucks, Sweeper Trucks, Low-Boys, Step Decks, Tilt Trailers, Roll Back, Goose Neck Trailers, Water Trucks, Asphalt Distributor Truck, Heavy Haul Road Tractors and much more. Expect to work mostly on Ford Trucks, Peterbilt, Kenworth, XL Trailers, Talbert Trailers, Moritz Trailers, Isuzu Chassis, Freightliner and Dodge. Cummins engine experience is a plus. Expect to work 45 hours+ per week with some Saturday Mornings. Starting rate of $26 an hour for entry level and up to $32 an hour for experienced Shop Mechanics. CDL not required but highly preferred. Inspection License Preferred.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete preventive maintenance for all assigned vehicles and mechanical equipment.
  • Operate a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
  • Test, service and repair vehicles and mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect, adjust and replace necessary units and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work.
  • Repair brake, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, ignition, air, exhaust, axle, steering, HVAC, suspension assemblies, and related systems.
  • Evaluate status of mechanical equipment/vehicles and perform or schedule needed repairs.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment, trailers and vehicles.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions.
  • Provides emergency field assistance.
  • Diagnose and Repair Vehicles, Trailers and Heavy Trucks.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have previous experience with Vehicle,Trailer and Heavy Truck Maintenance.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to maintain a DOT card for the operation of company vehicles.
  • Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and criminal background/MVR check.
  • Report to work at the designated start time.
  • Be willing to work holidays and weekends when necessary.
  • Be able to work overtime when required.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas.
  • Great attention to detail and stress tolerance.
Environment This position will require working outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold with rain to very hot and humid. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, with occasional periods of time exposed to machine noise.
