Under direct supervision, performs routine and standard experiments and procedures as assigned; provides support services for research projects.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct tissue culture experiments using iPSCs and neuronal models, including cell line maintenance, media formulation, and differentiation protocols.
  • Perform molecular biology techniques specific to iPSCs and neuronal models, such as iPSC reprogramming, neural differentiation, gene expression analysis, PCR, Western blotting, and DNA sequencing.
  • Assist in the design and optimization of experiments related to iPSCs and neuronal models, including protocol development, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Conduct PCR experiments to amplify DNA or RNA sequences of interest, including primer design, PCR set up, and analysis of PCR products.
  • Perform Western blot experiments to analyze protein expression levels, including sample preparation, gel electrophoresis, protein transfer, antibody incubation, and signal detection.
  • Assist in DNA sequencing experiments, including DNA extraction, library preparation, sequencing platform operation, and analysis of sequencing data.
  • Performs other related duties.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in sciences (or related field) or HS/GED. Bachelors degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of related experience

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $19.1117 - $26 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
