Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver freight in a timely and efficient manner while following all company guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving times, deliveries, and rest periods in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams to report any issues or delays and to receive instructions.
  • Manage routes and routines to optimize efficiency and fuel consumption, while adhering to set schedules.
  • Ensure the security of the cargo during transit.
  • Provide excellent customer service during pick-up and delivery, acting as a representative of the company.
  • Engage in ongoing training and skills development sessions provided by the company to stay updated with industry standards and technologies.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on the truck when necessary and report major issues to the maintenance team.
  • Adhere strictly to routes, schedules, and traffic laws to ensure the safety of other road users.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of Over the Road (OTR) experience.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check.
  • Must reside within 30 miles of Advance, NC, or be willing to relocate.
  • Strong geographic knowledge of the local area and route planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and dispatchers.
  • Physical ability to handle manual tasks including loading and unloading of cargo, if required.
  • Adaptability to changing schedules and working hours as needed.
  • Dedication to maintaining safety standards in every aspect of the operation.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining industry certifications.
