Job Description

The Transmission Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering high-voltage transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV . This role ensures project scope, schedule, budget, and safety goals are met while maintaining compliance with regulatory and utility standards. The manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, permitting agencies, and utility stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full project lifecycle of high-voltage transmission line projects (69kV–500kV) .
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, environmental permitting, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project), budgets, and risk assessments.
  • Lead internal and external project meetings and provide timely progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with utility interconnection teams, permitting agencies, and landowners.
  • Manage EPC contractors and vendors, ensuring deliverables meet quality and safety standards.
  • Facilitate resolution of design, schedule, and field issues in collaboration with engineering and construction teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (required).
  • PMP certification or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience managing transmission line projects (≥138kV) .
  • Strong knowledge of transmission engineering, right-of-way, permitting, and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing both overhead and underground transmission lines.
  • Familiarity with utility standards, interconnection requirements, and SCADA systems.
  • Previous work with utilities, IPPs, or EPC firms on capital projects >$20M.
