Job Description

New Edge Associates is collaborating with a reputable banking partner that is currently hiring a detail-oriented and customer-focused The Portfolio Manager in Miami, FL.

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for evaluating credit data and financial statements to assess the risk of loan requests from individuals and businesses, with a focus on Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending. The officer ensures adherence to loan policies, maintains portfolio quality, and upholds the integrity of the Bank’s credit risk standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive credit analyses for new and existing loan requests, including financial statement spreads, collateral evaluations, and risk assessments.
  • Review and assess loan applications, identify risk factors, and recommend credit structures that align with bank policy.
  • Monitor loan portfolios, including renewals, maturities, disbursements, and conversions, to ensure consistent credit quality.
  • Identify and recommend classification of problem loans; suggest appropriate risk rating changes.
  • Review credit work prepared by other analysts for accuracy, policy compliance, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with lending teams and clients to develop and structure credit requests for presentation to the loan committee.
  • Prepare internal reports for executive management and the Board of Directors on portfolio performance and risk exposure.
  • Support portfolio purchases through due diligence, reporting, contract execution, and transaction closing.
  • Maintain credit data systems for forecasting, stress testing, and concentration analysis.
  • Ensure proper credit and collateral documentation is maintained and compliant with regulatory and bank standards.
  • Assist with external audits, resolving findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support the Chief Credit Officer on strategic initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial underwriting or portfolio management, with a focus on CRE and C&I lending.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, risk rating methodology, credit policies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in credit analysis tools, loan servicing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective collaboration with internal teams, brokers, and clients to support high-quality credit decisions.
