Job Description

Position Highlights: full time night shift- Variable , 4 10-hour shifts with weekends and holidays as needed.
We are also looking for a PRN night candidate

Analyzes clinical specimens in order to provide compatible blood transfusion. Persom all tasks and procedures to provide appropriate blood compnents for transfusion. With additional training some employees in the job will perform photopheresis procedures and perform tersting in the HLA lab. 

Maintain equipment and records; performs control and quality assurance activities and participates in the evaluation of new procedures. Exercises broad independent judgement and requires minimal technical supervision to complete assigned tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Receives, accessions and processes blood specimens.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels of all blood components to ensure appropriate components are available when needed for transfusion.
• Performs and reports routine serological tests in the area of Immunohematology.

Credentials and Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Medical technology or related field is required.
• Florida state license in the specialties of Immunohematology required. Additional licenses in Hematology, Chemistry, Serology and Microbiology preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems is preferred.
