As a K-3 Math Corps Interventionist, you’ll help kids develop foundational math skills using evidence-based, scripted interventions. You’ll help students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade improve their skills and get on track with math. No experience? No problem. With great training and onsite coaching, we’ll prepare you to work with pairs of students to build these fundamental math skills and confidence. Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week. 7.5 service hours per day.
Requires 5 days per week.
Position starts 8/25/2025 and ends 5/30/2026 (part time positions also available)
Total AmeriCorps service term of 1200 hours
Compensation/Benefits:
Stipend of $1,356.60 biweekly before taxes (totaling $2,713.20 per month before taxes)
Education award of up to $5,176.50 that can be used to repay federal student loans or future education expenses
Federal student loan forbearance, interest accrued paid by AmeriCorps
Member Assistance Program which provides confidential access to a variety of mental health resources.
Health insurance and childcare assistance
Michigan Youth Development Associate (Mi-YDA) credential completion
Community groups and professional learning groups
Interventionists who successfully complete their service term will earn up to a $300 bonus.
Minimum qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older by your start date.
Must have at least a high school diploma or recognized equivalent by your start date.
Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
Must pass mandatory pre-service background checks.
Must not have served 4 or more prior terms of service with AmeriCorps State or National.
