Job Title: Kafka Developer
Location: 100% Remote (EST hours) Introduction

We are seeking a Kafka Developer to join our team during an exciting period of growth. As the organization undergoes a large acquisition, this role is pivotal in ensuring smooth data integration across systems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on developer with experience in building scalable, cloud-native data streaming solutions and integrating SaaS and on-prem applications using Confluent Kafka.


Required Skills & Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience working with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.

- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Scala for data streaming development.

- Experience developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines.

- Proficiency in building Kafka connectors and pub/sub architectures.

- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. - Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment (EST hours).


Preferred Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with Confluent Cloud (fully managed Kafka).

- Background in integrating SaaS applications with on-premises systems.

- Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures. - Experience collaborating with vendor support (e.g., Confluent support ticketing).


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Confluent Kafka.

- Develop connectors and data streaming integrations for SaaS and on-prem systems.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate deployments.

- Ensure high performance, scalability, and security of data streaming infrastructure.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integration projects during acquisition. - Provide light support by coordinating with Confluent support as needed.
