Job Description

As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a dynamic Industrial Electricians to be part of our Operations team.

In this role, you will support maintenance activities in the event of breakdown, shutdown, and any other planned maintenance as requested as well as perform routine and predictive maintenance activities. The position is of primary importance for the maximization of shop productivity and quality at an optimal cost and the highest quality levels.

Job qualifications and experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or EGD
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance or a combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical/electronic, components and equipment including diagnostic.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of Stick, Mig and Tig welding.
  • Extensive knowledge of mathematics, metrics, and calibrations of equipment.

Some responsibilities are:

  • Maintain the proper electrical performance and operation of all equipment
  • Maintain the functionality of power distribution within the melt Shop area.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities.
  • Assemble, install and maintain electrical and electronic control systems.
  • Provide technical assistance when electrical problems are encountered.
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineers as needed to diagnose electrical problems and determine how to resolve them.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Support Operations as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Support implementation of Best Practices and Continuous Improvement for the Melt Shop Team.
  • Maintain environmental and safety compliance requirements.
  • Identify safety hazards and opportunities for improvement in the safety.
  • Identify environmental opportunities for improvement.
  • Optimize operating practices and procedures.
  • Any other activities that may be required, or requested, to support the business.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
  • Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
  • Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
  • Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
  • Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
  • Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to safely use power and hand tools
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.

Salary: USD 34.27 hr.
