Job Title: General Ledger Accountant (Temporary)

Location: Greater Los Angeles Area (City of Industry)

Pay Rate: $33.00 - $35.00 / Hourly

Reports To: VP Controller IMMEDIATE OPENING

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Temporary General Ledger Accountant to support our Accounting team during a short-term coverage period. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely monthly close of the general ledger, preparation of financial statements, and reconciliation of accounts. The ideal candidate has a strong technical accounting background, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely monthly general ledger close
• Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Reconcile all bank accounts and general ledger cash balances
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts; research and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and analyze support schedules for prepaid and accrual accounts
• Analyze transaction data by account code to identify potential budget variances
• Compile and maintain statistical and management reporting
• Perform audits on capital projects
• Maintain spreadsheets to manage weekly cash balances and monthly expenditure/revenue reconciliations
• Develop, document, and maintain internal control procedures for financial transactions
• Prepare bank reconciliations, expense analyses, and management reports
• Ensure compliance with fiscal policies, accounting standards, and company procedures
• Support departmental activities and perform other duties as required to maintain productivity

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of General Ledger accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and NetSuite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to communicate project status and issues in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
