Medical Assistant We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Entry-Level Medical Assistant to join our growing healthcare team in Glendal. Responsibilities include assisting with patient intake, vital signs, administrative tasks, and supporting medical staff with day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and passionate about patient care. No prior experience is required, but completion of a Medical Assistant training program is preferred. What's in it for you? + Join an amazing close-knit team at a federally qualified health center. + They promote from within, so there is opportunity for internal growth. + They continue to serve the community as a leader in providing affordable healthcare in the San Fernando Valley. + PAY:21 Required + BLS Certification + Bilingual in Spanish Job Description + Greets patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner upon arrival at the medical facility. + Answers incoming phone calls promptly, routes calls appropriately, and takes accurate messages when necessary. + Schedules patient appointments efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and confirmation of insurance coverage. + Verifies patient demographics and insurance information during check-in and updates records as needed. + Collects co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, and provides receipts for all transactions. + Prepares and maintains patient charts, ensuring all necessary forms and documentation are completed and filed correctly. + Coordinates with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely communication of patient needs. + Manages incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes, emails, and mail, in a timely and confidential manner. + Maintains a clean, organized, and professional front office environment at all times. + Assists with administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning documents, and maintaining office supplies inventory. + Adheres to HIPAA regulations and maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times. + Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and a compassionate attitude toward patients and their families. + Participates in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives as required. Managers have started as Medical Assistants and advanced their careers, indicating ample room for growth. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
