POSITION SUMMARY:

Focus Interpreting is seeking an English - Spanish Medically Certified Interpreter to join our team in San Diego. In this vital role, you will provide professional interpreting services in medical settings, ensuring effective communication between English-speaking healthcare professionals and Spanish-speaking patients to support quality patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate communication during medical appointments, accurately interpreting conversations to ensure that patients understand their medical conditions, treatment plans, and healthcare options.
• Translate medical terminology and documentation with precision while assisting healthcare providers in delivering clear and informative care.
• Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations, maintaining patient privacy at all times.
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant medical documents and familiarizing yourself with specific terminology related to the patient’s condition.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on medical terminology and interpreter best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluency in both English and Spanish, with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• A valid Medical Certification for Spanish interpretation is required.
• Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse patient populations.
• Prior experience in medical interpreting is preferred.
