Overnight Transportation & Dispatch Operations Coordinator (3rd Shift)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented overnight Transportation & Dispatch Operations Coordinator to support driver dispatch, billing accuracy, and inventory control during 3rd shift operations. This role is essential to maintaining smooth overnight transportation activity, ensuring accurate documentation, cost tracking, and fleet readiness. The position is primarily on-site, with limited weekend remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Overnight Dispatch and Driver Support
Coordinate and dispatch drivers to meet delivery schedules and operational priorities.
Monitor driver activity to ensure compliance with safety policies and performance expectations.
Serve as the primary overnight contact for drivers and urgent transportation issues.
Assist with real-time problem resolution, including route changes, delays, and service disruptions.
Billing and Administrative Operations
Review, process, and verify transportation invoices, trip tickets, and delivery documentation.
Track trip costs, fuel usage, and service charges for accuracy and reporting.
Maintain accurate records for orders, deliveries, and billing discrepancies.
Complete data entry and prepare nightly and weekly operational reports.
Inventory and Equipment Management
Monitor fuel levels, vehicle availability, and equipment inventory.
Track fleet usage and identify maintenance or service needs.
Maintain accurate logs for vehicles, assets, and operational supplies.
Operations Support and Emergency Response
Support after-hours emergency and incident response procedures.
Communicate critical updates to management and internal teams.
Assist with process improvements focused on efficiency, cost control, and service reliability.
Qualifications
Associate degree preferred or 1–3 years of experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, or billing.
Experience supporting overnight or after-hours operations is preferred.
Proficiency with dispatch systems, logistics software, and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Schedule
Full-time, 3rd shift (overnight).
Weekend remote options available based on operational needs.
