Klamath Health Partnership (KHP) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nursing Director to oversee and elevate nursing operations across our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) clinics in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

About the Role

The Nursing Director provides leadership, supervision, and direction for the nursing and clinical support teams across multiple primary care sites. This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through effective clinical workflows, team training, and policy implementation.

Position Summary

The Nursing Director is a key member of the KHP leadership team and is responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating all nursing and clinical support services across KHP’s primary care clinics. This role ensures the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and supports organizational goals around compliance, clinical excellence, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to nursing staff, medical assistants, and clinical support personnel
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, protocols, and workflows that align with FQHC and PCMH standards
  • Collaborate with medical, dental, and behavioral health leadership to ensure integrated care delivery
  • Support daily clinical operations and act as a liaison between providers and support staff

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, including HRSA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and audits related to nursing practices and clinical documentation
  • Maintain and monitor competencies, licensure, and training of nursing and clinical support staff

Training & Staff Development

  • Plan and coordinate onboarding, training, and continuing education for clinical support staff
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and trauma-informed care
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support staff retention and morale

Strategic Planning

  • Participate in strategic planning for clinical operations and workforce development
  • Analyze nursing-related data and key performance indicators to improve patient outcomes and efficiency
  • Assist in recruitment and workforce planning efforts in partnership with HR

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oregon
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree (MSN or related field) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in an outpatient, community health, or FQHC setting
  • Proven experience managing teams and navigating change in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong knowledge of clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with trauma-informed care, integrated care models, and social determinants of health
  • Familiarity with EHR systems
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
