Job Description

Northwest Partners is looking to hire an experienced Director of DevOps to work on a contract with the opportunity to roll over permanent with one of our premier clients in the insurance industry.

This role will serve as a strategic and technically proficient leader responsible for defining and governing secure SDLC practices, infrastructure automation, and platform reliability across the enterprise.

What YOU will do

• Define and implement best practices across secure SDLC and infrastructure automation functions
• Lead and mentor DevOps teams focused on automation platforms, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD tooling
• Oversee SOX compliance and audit processes, including change control governance
• Drive toolchain standardization, operational excellence, and cost optimization across cloud and DevOps services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, security, and operations to guide technical initiatives
• Manage team structure, performance, and succession planning
• Govern SDLC tool access, entitlement reviews, and lifecycle management
• Identify and eliminate blockers to accelerate DevOps delivery and enterprise-wide adoption

What YOU will bring us

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, IT infrastructure, or platform engineering
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role
• Expertise in AWS services such as EKS, EC2, S3, and EFS
• Strong background in CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab, and Artifactory
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration and modern build tools such as Docker, Maven, and Gradle
• Scripting proficiency in BASH and Python
• Proven success in regulated environments with SOX or similar compliance standards
• Demonstrated ability to mentor technical teams and manage cross-functional projects
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) or equivalent experience
• Willingness to work onsite at the client’s office
