Position Description

Employees in this position perform tasks related to the care, treatment and rehabilitation of program clients. These employees participate in the planning, preparation, and delivery of in-service training as directed by supervisory personnel. Employees in this position are aware of available community resources, they make appropriate referrals to same, and they function as a member of a treatment team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assesses clients referred for substance abuse and mental health evaluations and makes appropriate treatment recommendations regarding same.
2. Performs case management functions such as maintaining case records and coordinating additional services as necessary.
3. Acts as a group leader/facilitator during group counseling sessions.
4. Provides individual counseling to program clients.
5. Provides family counseling to program clients.
6. Provides clinical supervision and coordination of the work of other staff members as delegated by the Clinical Supervisor/Program Supervisor.
7. Acts as a resource for other staff members with regards to appropriate treatment modalities, methods, and techniques to be utilized with program clients.
8. As directed, represents the Agency in matters of petition for involuntary treatment and consults with other professionals regarding addictions and mental health treatment and intervention.
9. Maintain credential to supervise licensed interns that are working at the agency and assigned for your supervision of the intern.
10. Will secure an individual NPI number and apply for a State of Florida Medicaid provider number within 30 days of employment, if the incumbent does not already have such credentials.
11. Incumbent will permit Tri-County Human Services to link this Medicaid number to Tri-County for billing purposes for Medicaid and other private insurance providers
12. Performs other reasonable and related duties as requested.

Minimum Training and Experience

• Requires State of Florida licensure as an L.C.S.W., L.M.H.C., or L.M.F.T. Individual must have two (2) years’ experience and participate is on insurance/Medicaid/Medicare panels for billing purposes with NPI number.
• Requires extensive knowledge of all aspects of addictions and /or mental health treatment and rehabilitation including familiarity with various models of treatment, understanding of various therapeutic techniques and approaches, and the ability to identify and utilize the most effective form of treatment with each client. Requires a strong knowledge base regarding the causes, symptoms, and progression of substance abuse and/or mental health problems.
