Los Angeles Legal Advocates (LALA) is a fast-growing, mission-driven law firm founded on the belief that every person—regardless of status—deserves dignity, due process, and justice. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Civil Rights Attorney to join our federal litigation team.

This role is ideal for someone with a deep commitment to immigrant rights and a strong background in mandamus actions, habeas petitions, TROs, and injunctive relief in federal court. If you’re looking to use the law as a tool for systemic change, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

• Represent immigrants in federal court litigation, including:
• Mandamus actions to challenge unreasonable delays
• Habeas corpus petitions for unjust or prolonged detention
• Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs) and injunctions to stop removals or protect constitutional rights
• Work on high-impact civil rights cases addressing violations by DHS, ICE, CBP, and USCIS
• Collaborate closely with trial teams, community organizations, and impacted families
• Engage in legal research, brief writing, oral arguments, and client strategy meetings
• Mentor junior attorneys or paralegals on federal procedures and civil rights principles

What We’re Looking For

• JD from an accredited law school + bar admission (CA preferred)
• 3–10+ years of federal litigation experience
• Demonstrated experience in civil rights, immigration, or constitutional litigation
• Strong knowledge of immigration law, APA claims, and Due Process protections
• Passion for defending marginalized communities, especially immigrants
• Spanish fluency is a strong plus but not required
