Job Description
We are seeking a Building Systems Engineer to support a high-profile smart building project in Manhattan. This is an onsite role embedded within a dynamic team environment. The engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and integration of building systems, working closely with remote and offshore teams to meet project milestones. Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the onsite technical resource for building systems operations and integration.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of system components.
Support agile project execution through structured documentation, communication, and issue resolution.
Interface with building automation systems, including VMS platforms and legacy protocols.
Assist in the deployment and configuration of IoT-enabled building technologies.
Provide technical insight and feedback to improve system performance and reliability.
Maintain detailed records of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting efforts.
Collaborate with regional teams and contribute to broader strategic initiatives.

Skills and Requirements
3+ years of experience in building systems engineering, building automation, or HVAC controls.
Strong understanding of building management systems (BMS), including VMS platforms (Schneider VMS is a plus).
Familiarity with legacy building protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
Experience working in agile environments and coordinating with distributed teams.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced setting.
HVAC or mechanical systems background preferred.
Willingness to learn and train on new platforms.
Ability to interface directly with customers and stakeholders. - Experience with smart building technologies or large-scale commercial building projects.
Prior exposure to IoT protocols and cloud-based building platforms.
