Experienced Bartender/Server Wanted at Mäksē Restaurant – Flexibility, Professionalism, and Pride in Service

About the Position:  Mäksē Restaurant is seeking dedicated and experienced  bartender/servers  to join our team. This is a role for hardworking individuals who take pride in providing excellent service and being part of a team that serves high-quality food and beverages. With the holiday season approaching, we’re gearing up for private parties and special events in our downstairs  Speakeasy Bar  and are looking for top-notch staff to ensure our guests have an unforgettable experience. Both full-time and part-time positions are available.

Earnings Potential:  Bartender/servers at Mäksē earn  an average of over $45 per hour , including a base rate of $16.50 per hour, credit card tips, and additional income from cash tips. At Mäksē,  hard work is rewarded  with competitive earnings and a supportive team environment.

Restaurant Hours:

• Monday - Tuesday: Closed
• Wednesday - Thursday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Friday - Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• Sunday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

About the Role:  Our bartender/servers play multiple roles to ensure a smooth and memorable dining experience. Responsibilities include:

• Presenting yourself professionally in appearance, demeanor, and hygiene – the way you speak, carry yourself, and interact with guests reflects on our restaurant.
• Being punctual and ready to work when scheduled, prepared to deliver exceptional service.
• Greeting and seating guests warmly.
• Making knowledgeable recommendations about our food and beverages.
• Taking orders, running food, bussing tables, and preparing for the next guests.
• Working during private events and holiday parties in our Speakeasy Bar, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
• Following standardized recipes for our craft cocktails to ensure consistently excellent drinks.  Candidates who review our menu, wine list, beer, and craft cocktails on our website at MakseRestaurant.com  before applying will have an advantage.
• Adapting to different shift dynamics, working independently on slower shifts or as part of a full team on busier ones.

Training and Tip Share:  All new bartenders go through a training period, typically lasting  four days or longer depending on individual progress . During training, you’ll receive a portion of tips. Once you’re proficient with the food and drink menus, wine list, Toast POS, table service, and drink preparation without assistance, you’ll graduate to a full tip share. Mäksē pools tips to foster teamwork, ensuring all staff contribute to an outstanding guest experience.

Qualifications:

• Must be 21 or older.
• Proven experience as a bartender with a solid understanding of drink preparation.
• Professional, friendly demeanor with excellent communication skills.
• Strong personal presentation, including hygiene, punctuality, and professionalism.
• Ability to stay organized, work efficiently, and keep the bar fully stocked and clean.
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
• Relevant training or certification.
