Staff Attorney - Family Law Focus

A well-established nonprofit legal organization in the Miami area is seeking a licensed Florida attorney to join its team supporting underserved communities. This role is part of a unit dedicated to helping individuals navigate income-related public benefits and family law matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload focused on public benefits and family law issues, including Medicaid eligibility, Re-employment Assistance, SNAP, Temporary Cash Assistance, divorce, and custody.
  • Conduct client intake by phone, in-office, and in community-based settings.
  • Organize and participate in community outreach, client education workshops, and partnerships with advocacy and service organizations.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Bar license required.
  • Demonstrated dedication to public interest or low-income advocacy.
  • Familiarity with family law proceedings preferred.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Team-oriented with solid interpersonal communication abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience.

  • Full-time exempt position with eligibility for benefits starting the first of the month following hire.
