Activities Director

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Activities Director to oversee and enhance our recreational and social programs for our Senior Community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enriching lives through engaging activities and a strong ability to lead and motivate a team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a varied program of activities, ensuring that they meet the needs and interests of participants.
- Design and implement a diverse range of activities, workshops, and events that cater to the interests and needs of our residents, members, etc.
-Recruit, train, and supervise activity staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and engaging work environment.
- Develop and manage the activities budget, ensuring that all programs are cost-effective and within financial guidelines.
- Collaborate with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to create partnerships that enhance activities and foster community involvement.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of activities and programs through participant feedback and observations; make improvements as needed.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and organizational policies, creating a secure environment for all participants.
- Promote upcoming events and programs through newsletters, social media, and community outreach to maximize participation, our Alis system.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation levels, and program evaluations for reporting purposes.
- Previous experience in program development, recreation, or activities coordination, ideally within a similar setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative team atmosphere.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a talent for engaging and motivating participants.
- Proficiency in standard office software and experience with social media platforms for promotion purposes.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- This position may require evening and weekend hours based on program schedules.
- Ability to lift and move equipment or materials related to activities and events may be necessary.
